recording the processed vocals

Post by Novaliz » Thu Oct 09, 2014 4:09 pm

i am using some effects on my voice during recording but the audio file itself is alwys dry. is there a way to record the vocals with all the effects without process them later?

you have to record "post fx" not "pre fx". it adds latency though.

how are you adding the effects, in Live or on the audio interface?

Route the audio from the track with your dry clips to another new audio track - it will record the signal with devices post-FX from the dry track as long as you set the track routing accordingly. It's post-mixer by default, which also takes the mixer controls (pan/vol) into account.

Is there a reason you don't want to just have the fx on the track during playback or via sends instead of recording them live?
