9.1.6. retina support, what is it?, also for Windows...?

I read from 9.1.6 release note that retina support is finally added. What does this mean in practice...?

- can you you fit more user interface elements (ableton live plugins, VST plugins, etc...) or does it only mean that the picture and edges appear to be sharper

- does this change in any way increase the usability of high resolution windows laptops (e.g. 3200 x 1800 pixel 13" or 15" windows laptop)

- does this change in any way increase the usability of 4K screens (e.g. 28" ultra hd screen) in windows...?

I'm pretty sure it just means that it looks better on Retina displays. Not a resolution change, no more items on screen etc.

Also it has absolutely nothing to do with anything Windows...
