Make bounced audio track out of frozen track in one step

Post by spanktron » Tue Nov 11, 2014 8:09 am

I wish there was a was to:
Freeze a track. bounce the audio to another track which automatically has the name of the original track
and all the audio clips.
In other words a short way of replacing a frozen track without having to name a new one
and drag the audio manually.

Is something like this possible? would save me half a lifetime..

You want to skip past freeze straight to flatten? Or you want a frozen/flattened duplicate with a single command?

Have you tried off-line rendering for a single track? Set arrangement loop points, then CTRL+SHIFT+R. You'd still have to drag it from your library, though, so just sounds like trading one cost for another.

Thanks for the reply.
Hmm that too sounds like more steps than i wish for.
In my understanding in order to "extract" audio of-from a frozen track to a new track one has two options:

1) i can drag and drop the frozen clips to a new track so i have them as "ready to use waveform"
2) i can record the audio output of a track (in real time...)

i basically want option 1 but via shortcut.
Not "freeze track, creating extra track, drag and drop the clips from frozen to unfrozen clip"
but "freeze track and convert it to a Unfrozen one with all the audio information of the Frozen one.

Something like the "Convert Audio to Midi track (Drums, melody, harmony) " option, only for a whole frozen track with all it`s clips in it.

I can`t describe it better. i hope you understand?

Freeze - Duplicate track - Flatten.

I sometimes have an audio track ready to send input to and record incoming signals. Depending on what you have on the track you want to freeze and bounce, recording it straight to another audio track might be less time consuming.

Freezing has a great benefit which is saving cpu power. I think it makes the devices inactive.
