Dithering Question............?

I've got my mastering chain with a L3 at the end and I've selected 16 bit, dither type 1 on the plugin.... My question is what do you set Lives settings to? Do I leave it on 24 bit with no dither or do I select 16 bit and still no dither?? And is it ok to leave sample rate at 96K......?

Set Live to 16 and no dither if you want a 16bit file. You can leave it at 96k if you want, any reason why though?

Can always rely on you Tarekith, thanks...... No real reason for leaving it on 96k. Just wasn't sure if you had set it to 44.1 every time when exporting your mastered track? Is there a rule?

Well, if you're going to make a CD or give away the wav to anyone, likely you want to set it to 44.1kHz. If you're after a higher resolutioncopy just for your own back ups, you can save it at 96kHzif you wanted. Though I would also suggest keeping it 24bit too at that point.

Though I would say if you wrote it at 44.1 to begin with there's no reason to really upsample to 96kHz right at the end IMVHO.
