I think a handful of push users are screaming for it, the rest of us are happy with what we have.

I will, the stuff in that glass is pretty potent. I've had mine a year now, and still find something I didn't know every time I look into it.

To be fair, simple things like the question in the OP are completely valid. I love my Push, after 4 decades of making music on various wind/percussion/string instruments, the Push is officially my wet dream as far as music interfaces go. I love this thing at a level that is probably unhealthy.

That doesn't mean there isn't room for fixing user interface things.

I always use a single drum rack, but no matter how many times I load it, it still remains at the bottom of the list. For a device used in live performance, that could definitely be improved upon.

This is basically a 1.0 product, and there is such a wealth of potential for improvement that it's overwhelming. And Ableton has been pretty silent about what they may or may not be working on, so I can understand why people would like to know more.

I totally agree there is room to improve some stuff however, I notice many people on this forum complaining about ableton adding nothing changing nothing, demanding that they add stuff etc my point is they sold us a product, they told us what it can do, it can do it, with that in mind what exactly do ableton owe us? we paid them for the product as it is and while it would be nice to get some new stuff etc I don't feel I have the right to go around demanding things from them, if they wanna keep hush hush that's on them we got what we paid for already.

And please dont take this as an attack on anyone elses opinion but the OP did ask what us lot think, and this is what I think - nobody has to agree with me :)

i think with everything in life. there is always room for improvment. especially with such a brilliant controller as this. soo many people use it in so many different ways that there is bound to be a wealth of ideas/suggestions. it would be nice if ableton took some of these on board :D

Wow interesting responses.....
So to set it out, I use my push daily and love it, always finding new ways to use it, but come on, we all know there a a few things Ableton really left out and should be attended too.
Just simple work flow things. I don't care for crazy additions but of course they a re welcome :)

So BACK to the op....

What do you guys think, regardless of if you like your push or not.

So ideas, thoughts?

I know I would prefer other kind of controller instead of Push v2:

- A mixer designed for Live, I don't know how it would be but considering what they pulled with Push it could be fantastic.

- A keyboard version of Push with more encoders and 61 keys.

- An Official iPad control App for Live.

Many moons ago they used to announce new instruments between versions so maybe announce a new native synth (just dreaming).

with the apc40 and push it is a lot, with pxt even more.

in view of live-gigs it would be still tempting to preload
the next track or make nice transitions between two of .als

with a strong machine its even possible to run 2 tracks
in 2 Instances of Live - but the controller mapping is
kind of instable and NOT user-friendly.

i would love to see one Push switching between two .als
or make it please more userfriendly to pingpong tracks
between 2 controllers.

a selection which open instance of live should be controlled
via push would be a step in the right direction.

this improvement would free a lot of potential and even
those bedroomproducers having track by track would
get more space to set up whole sets with their single tracks.als

Id like to be able to:
*preview all my samples without dragging them into a drum rack.
*audition the notes in harmonic sequencer with shift key
*rearrange order of folders in push's browser

Other than that im pretty darn happy with push especially with pxt covering most additional things :)

A "software update" yes I am very interested, a hardware one, no.
