But I agree with your sentiment. I don't think this was such a good idea. The Ableton Lounge is not that kind of a community unfortunately. People don't view each other as friends on here. Sadly, I might add.
And as for me helping: even if I had something to donate, and I don't, I would probably be too lazy to go through the trouble of packing it, filling out custom forms for the US, bringing it to the shipping service etc. Not to mention that this shipping would be probably more expensive than the hardware itself.
But old computers that are a lot better than what you described, are not so expensive. Just look at your local Craigslist or Ebay listings.
