How to activate midi track for midi keyboard play

Post by thak » Mon Jan 12, 2015 12:16 pm

Hi guys,
I switched from Cubase / Logic on Ableton (MAC).

I have one issue about midi keyboard playing:

When I want to play the midi keyboard I need to hit this little round button on track, to get MIDI Input, so I have to click on track, which should recieve midi signal from my keyboard. Is there any way, how to automatically set, that highlighed / selected channel will automatically recieve midi in?
You know in Cubase / logic you can just click on track and start playing and automatically the selected track recieves midi in data.
In Ableton I have to select track and then by another click I have to click on small round button and Midi goes in.

It is 2 clicks instead of 1 from another DAW and what more if I forgot to click, I still play the instrument, which has been selected before even if I have highlighted / selected different midi track.

Any solution?

great! this is what I was looking for. I just cannot localize the Ableton folder under my Library Preferences on Mac.. I use Ableton Live Standard 9 and Osx Mavericks.
