I still think VJing is the future for the successful DJ. The audio side of things is just too easy thanks to Live.

I found lots of useful tips there.

Is there a Mac-only VJ solution yet? Vegas & VJamm seem cool, but I've already got 2 Macs to sync together + don't really want to buy a PC again.

Why "Mac-only"? Anyways, there are loads of good vj programs for mac, resolume, nasa, jitter, etc. etc.. not a vj here, so I'm just going off the top of my head.

Vidvox makes some good Mac VJ software. VDMX especially is quite good for realtime manipulation, I think.
Modul8 is very powerful also, especially if you have a G5

I use Arkaos VJ extensively with Live on a Mac. The new version 3.5 supports Freeframe plug-ins.

The Mac HW version is imminent, which will use your video card to process the effects rather than your main CPU. The PC HW beta is already out. The Mac version should be pretty awesome.

It all depends on what you want to do. If you just want to chop up low-res abstract shapes on the screen, there are tons of software products for Mac and PC, and you can do it on a Powerbook. For serious hi-res video, though, Powerbook processors and video don't yet hack it. In fact, even the 2 x 2.7GHz machines struggle with HD.

Thanks all--I'm diving into demos now. And I didn't mean Mac-ONLY. I don't despise PCs, I just don't use them when I'm not being paid to.
