Gear in the Ableton Beta picture?

Post by alexdecker » Tue Feb 24, 2015 2:08 pm

Identify… aaaand… go!

I can't figure out if all the equipment is in a rack, or just stacked on each other?

I just like that 3D stereogram in the background. :)

I’m pretty sure that rectangular thing in front of the MacBook Pro is a Push MIDI controller made by Ableton. :D

I think under the desk is possibly an 88 key “keyboard”, something old timers used back in the day to compose music and part of a larger group known as “musical instruments”, a completely unnecessary relic of music’s antiquated past.

Thermionic Culture Vulture - tube distortion/saturation
Manley Vari Mu - tube compressor/limiter

The thing on the right with the green knob is a cranesong avocet.

High end shit.

and the thing to the right of the Cranesong looks like a Koma Elektronik pedal of some sort. Top of pile on left is a Knas Moisturizer.

Haha, I'm a jazz pianist, so I got the keyboard thing down :D Was mainly wondering about the outboard gear.

What about that little black box in front of the rack gear?

Man, you guys sure know your equipment. That spring reverb is really interesting :) Does Live offer any spring reverb simulation I don't know anything about?

try a PingPong delay unsynced with very short time settings (between 5 and 50ms) and feedback set to about 45-49%. Works especially well on bass/kick sounds and not so well in the higher registers.

You can tune it with varying the time settings.

(and you probably want to use a Utility after this to make your bass/kick mono again)

Great, thanks! Will try that later today :)

I found the original expanded studio image on Twitter. A little more equipment on this one. Can anyone recognise something?

8O
That's some serious gear porn

But what I find the most astonishing is how clutter free he has it all set up.
It's either arranged for the photo or he is a huge neat freak.

And I guess he prefers to sit uncomfortably while he works...

I find this statement sexist and offensive.
