You meant to add after he leaked classified documents, right Or did he fail to return several Red Box DVDs? I can't remember.

:x

Meh, he just disclosed the fact that the US government (along with other world governments) is tracking all the digital and cellular activity of every person on the planet and gave some proof. Not really shocking or endangering specific people. The government’s legal response “Well that just sounds fucked up when this nobody noob says it like that”. :x

Snowden is considering returning to the US if he believes he can get a fair trial. I look forward to the parade of organized crime and gang member government witnesses who will testify that snitching is the highest crime in the land and punishable by death.

If Hitler were still alive he’d be a show host on MSNBC and would be like the David Lee Roth of dictators with his Hitlerisms and explaining why there’s just no living comparison to his greatness.

He'd be on Fox News for sure. They'd love him.

Palin would suck his cock and McCain would wipe his ass. Romney would iron his shirts.

Great film about a great man.

Unfortunately what he did was all in vain IMO.

It's strange to think back to the pre-Snowden era, where most were not aware of the surveilance state and how it was build without consulting the public in our "democracies" and compare to today, where it has become clear that the surveilance state is non-negociable, and the public has accepted it.

Democracies don't need surveilance apparatuses on the inside. In fact these things are mutually exclusive.
Yet all the rulers in the western "democracies" are clammering for them. (and the non-western countries mostly always had them)

The post-democratic era has began and no-one can stop it.

This is NOT going to end well... :(

Nevermind the fact that various books and movies have been focusing in on government snooping and spying since....well....the 1960s.

Dude. Everyone has suspected/known about government surveillance. There was nothing shocking in any way about what Snowden 'revealed'.

meh.

Anyway. Whlle we do a lot of hand wringing over Snowden ISIS has started throwing gay men (or those simply suspected of being gay) off of buildings. Then the crowds below stone the corpses with rocks. I'm going to ponder that little fact whilst I decidedly not give a shit about Snowden.

sigh

So the fact that your own government is making huge databases that will contain everything (and I'm not playing regarding EVERYTHING) about you, bothers you less, than what some pretty much powerless crazies do halfway across the world?!

Are you also one of these people, who want a "full take" of the internet for the government, because it could be that otherwise some child pornographer might get away?

sigh, sigh, SIGH

Priorities, have them ;-)

And btw, I thought conservatives were all about small government, no?! This is the extreme opposite of "small government"!

The Theory of Everything is one of the most boring films I've seen in ages. ffs. It's like wretched Masterpiece Theater from the 1970s; complete with a goofy relationship story that made me want to pour acid on my face very, very slowly. Anything to wake me up from this dullard's nightmare.
