The cool thing about the first picture is that it is a real thing. It's the Japanese T2KDetector (Super-Kamiokande) to detect neutrinos. It's truly impressive.
I'm not sure if the movie scenes were filmed there though, or if they just used it as an inspiration for the set.
Though it could be that the Brazil scene was also filmed in a real setting. A power plant maybe?!
