I don’t think this was posted yet and I’m going to use it to offset the Blurred Lines “but is a hi-hat not just a hi-hat?!?” debate. :x

laughable

they have gotten already much more attention than their output ever deserved

that break got famous because it was used by the right samplers at the right time, not because there is anything special about it.

But seriously if I remember the story right, it was from a track almost no one bought at the time, by people who vanished from attention directly after and then by some turn of fate one record ended up in the hands of one of the early hip-hoppers years later, who sampled the break

And that's when it got known.

Sorry that to my says the success belongs to that hip hopper, because on its own in its original context no one cared about the break.

So they got lucky to even get that much attention out of it.

It actually surprises me that you would use the matter of how much or how many people care about something as a measure of its worth.

If thats the measure then why stop there?

I didn't say: Fuck those guys

All I said was they got as much attention out of making a drum loop as you possibly can.

That should be plenty

If sampling space on early drum machines wouldn't have been so sparse, and something like Loopmasters had existed at the time, it would probably not even have made it to be used twice.

I mean you are all aware that we are talking about a glorified (to hell!) drum loop here, right?!

I make 10s of those each day. The amount of creativity in this process is absolutely minimal.

It's what you make of it that makes it shine.

They failed in that, others succeeded.
That's life. They should just let it go and carry on. Maybe they have better luck next time.

Is there like a guidebook or something we can reference when speaking of something's worth and longevity?

It's fucking hilarious how little you understand of the issue here.

well you are certainly making a great case for your point of view......as usual

do you know how to make an argument?

do you even know what one would look like, if you should ever encounter one?!

Hint: yelling YOU DUMB didn't even serve as one in 8th grade.

At least not where I went to school
