reverb alternative to ableton reverb

Post by yentzee » Wed Mar 18, 2015 12:00 pm

Hi!
Could anyone recommend an alternative to the ableton reverb?
I am not quite sure if it is just me not being able to tweak it properly or if it sounds shit.
Anyway I am not getting the best results and would like a simple but still good sounding one.
Obviously cpu friendly would be nice and no convolution reverb

Any ideas and suggestions?

Not sure what sort of sound you're working on, but I've gotten a lot of great use out of Voxengo OldSkoolVerb, especially on drums. You have to be subtle with it though--it gets sonically out of hand easily.

And it's free!!

For a real world reverb you can't go wrong with EAReverb or EAReverb SE. One of the better investments I've done.

When it's not acting up the M4L Convolution Reverb in Ableton Live Suite is great and at par performance-wise with other convolution plug-ins.
Make some music!

How about NI reflektor? I own this, but just want to know if this is considered shit :)

it would be nice to stick to something inside of ableton. Havent used the convolution so far as I would like to have a reverb on every track so sidechaining affects the reverb as well.
Gonna try the convolution one on a return track.

Why they didn't include/make the convolution reverb a native device lord only knows.

Altiverb is cool but the old version is 32 bit and the new one is pricey.

Abelton Reverb "can" sound good but you have to try very hard at it. I find it's much better suited for shorter ambiences rather than big huge hall type reverb.

I like using the Max 4 Live convolution reverb pro if I need a lush reverb.

Reflector is awesome, just a bit of a hassle being tied to Guitar rig.
