Nice. I don't usually like ambient, but I like this :)

OK, here's Trackless

I have a lot of doubts about this one.

I am playing around with Euclidian rhythms; and because it sounded kinda tribal I tried to link it to sounds of the Kalahari desert. Vocal sample of Khoisan music and some nice desert night sounds I got from somewhere :)

But it just sounds awfully cheesy at the moment.

There's something edgier wanting to emerge from this, but I have to de-cheese it somehow 8O

don't sell it short. i love the beat...
i like that beat repeat or whatever comes in at 4 minutes. its a good way to break things up. i dig the synth sounds too.

Thanks for the kind comments. I certainly think it has potential...

The effect is Dub Machines' Magnetic plus Glitch

Here's my track for March... it started life as a homework assignment, but once the class was over, I went crazy remixing and polishing it up.

Remixed Erin Barra's There For You on Blend. Removed the synth sounds and replaced them with orchestral strings for an old-school romantic ballad feel.

Hexagon (Radio Edit)

This is the short version of my entry into the Hive Contest on Blend.io. The piece consists of 19 tracks, each containing an instance of Hive synthesizer. No other instruments were used.

The original 8-minute version is here.

A later version of same track

https://soundcloud.com/re-dreams-workshop/presencing

A little less cheesy, but I am still not satisfied with it. Transitions don't work as well as I want them, and it gets a bit samey in places.

I am using this track now as a vehicle for learning about compression. Got to tame the transients and get the mix more present without compromising on dynamics.

Sweet. I am impressed by how you can suck the listener in with such a minimal, layered sound palette. Very nicely done.
