Mixer snapshots

Post by Ryder17 » Tue Mar 24, 2015 9:12 pm

Aside from Kapture, are there any other methods of achieving mixer (and device) snapshots in ableton?

That sounds a little complicated.

Ok, playing around with clyphx, ant find an easy way to do it. I just need a little device that can be controlled via midi and captures mixer and device settings. Surely its been done?

Yep. I've only implement a few snapshot options, but it M4L so it's easy to customise.
I forgot to mention it but it worked without Push, you can simply midi/key map the actions.

Does this store fader positions? I need it to do mixer snapshots primarily?

Wow thats it? [name] all/snap? that stores all settings?

Does the clip have to be playing whilst making fader adjustments in order to remember them? Or can I just make a clip then press play in order for the current setting to be saved?

Thanks! This is a game changer for me

this

Just start using it. It's not like clyphx costs you anything.
(though it's more useful and powerful than many things that do cost money)

I did play around with it a bit last night but couldn't find what I needed in under 5 mins so I got on with my work.

This is just what I need, i'm sure i'll discover more tricks as I go and after i've read the flippin' manual....... Thanks ever so much!!

yeah read the manual. It's clear and has pretty much all the information you might need.

So the global all/snap action will take a snapshot of all your instrument and mix settings? Plugins and everything? So cool. Installing this today.

Yep, this video tells you most of what you need to know. Although it a few years old so may not mention how to do the mix morphing, but thats relatively easy to figure out (name the track CLYPHX SNAP)
