Hi
I asked this to ableton today:
"I once (long ago) asked you about if it would soon be possible to see several instrument in the piano roll and do editing for the instruments as well - but you answered it was not in the pibeline even though many had requested that exactly. So I ask again is there anything in the pibeline that will facitlitate this?"
Do you agree?

Re: Multiple instruments in piano roll
Create an instrument rack with MIDI splits.... multiple instruments on the same piano roll. Use macro controls to adjust multiple instrument parameters, if that's what you need too...
What were you asking for? Sounds like Live already does it.

Re: Multiple instruments in piano roll
(1) Load all your instruments in a track in the order you want them on the keyboard
(2) Rack them
(3) Show chain list
(4) Klick on Key zone editor
(5) drag bars to taste. You can even have fade zones.

Re: Multiple instruments in piano roll
It could be it - would you care to elaborate on the setup? What is important, at least for me, is to be able to view each instrument clearly in the piano roll (e.g by colours) and also to have easy access to all control changes for each instrument so automation is easily done.Richie Witch wrote:Create an instrument rack with MIDI splits.... multiple instruments on the same piano roll. And please note that when I write instruments I mean from VST plugins like East West / VSL plugins - so you know
Thanks a lot

I think layered editing of multiple selected clips would make sense.
Make some music!

Layered MIDI editing is my most wanted feature for Live 10.
