I record, mix and master my shit on a Burroughs 5500 mainframe using a COBOL green-screen music app which calls some custom Fortran subroutines to get that high quality 8-bit tightness. Wonder where that fits in to the audio workstation food chain.

most professional studios don't have windows, except the one between the control room and the performers area. You can use a mac for this but it has to be the transparent PVC type.

Professionals use mirrors, not windows

I replaced all my windows, walls and doors with mirrors and now my mixes sound amazing.
It makes the room nice and bright, and I can chop out lines with my tarot cards on every surface.
