I record, mix and master my shit on a Burroughs 5500 mainframe using a COBOL green-screen music app which calls some custom Fortran subroutines to get that high quality 8-bit tightness. Wonder where that fits in to the audio workstation food chain. :o

most professional studios don't have windows, except the one between the control room and the performers area. You can use a mac for this but it has to be the transparent PVC type.

Professionals use mirrors, not windows

I replaced all my windows, walls and doors with mirrors and now my mixes sound amazing.
It makes the room nice and bright, and I can chop out lines with my tarot cards on every surface.
