Routing a different audio input to the Ableton Vocoder

Post by mrsdoubtfire » Thu Jun 11, 2015 9:54 am

Hello there - could anyone help with this?

At the moment when I use the ableton vocoder, I have to have the spoken word audio I want to effect on the same track as the vocoder (with the synth being brought in via the 'external input' side chain input on the vocoder)

I'd like to be able to not have not have the spoken word audio on the same track as the vocoder - and use the audio from a different track.

Whenever I select a different track as the audio input (and change the track setting from 'auto' to 'in) - it doesn't work and all I hear is the synth (but no vocoding)

If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated

Thanks

Hi,

you have to select in the track, where your audio is, 'Audio To': the track, where your vocoder is in.
Then you have to mute the track with your synth and you can play the audio in the vocoder with your synth, also select monitor IN in your vocoder track.

Your mistake is to select 'Audio From' in the vocoder track.
