The Y-cable is the correct one, the XLR to mono jack should work, but a normal XLR female-male (or female XLR to stereo jack) would have been better. Not that it would matter much with short cable runs, but for longer runs, and especially on stages/places with lots of electrical wiring on the floor, it's best to take advantage of the balanced signal the DI offers. That's what it is meant for in the first place. As your DI is passive, it should have a 9V battery. Active DI's can be powered by +48V phantom power on your soundcard...

I've been there as well... read up, learn, get better and make other mistakes!

So how would I set it up?

Would I run the Female XLR from my DI Box to my audio interface? From there, with my Y Cable, which jack would I plug into the input of the DI Box?

just to be clear, if you are using the one DI you have, the Y-cable should work to give you one channel (either left or right from the Volca), depending on which Y-cable jack you plug in to the input of the DI.

the XLR output from the DI should then be connected to your audio interface. using an XLR -> XLR cable would be best...

Heres what I did, I went out and swapped out my CMP153 for a CMP159 and got a XLR(M) to XLR(F) and im running the XLR(M) from my DI Box with the XLR(F) going into the Preamp of my Audiobox. I then put an External Instrument in a MIDI track, and under "Audio From" I have 1/2 (the preamps) selected, with a gain of 0. With the Korg, I have the 1/3 audio jack going from the Korg, with the "Tip" 1/4 going into the Input of the DI Box. Now, I still cant hear audio.
Under the Live Preferences under Audio, I have my Audio Device set to my Audiobox, and the Channel Config with both 1 (mono) & 2 (mono) and the 1/2 (stereo) inputs selected, same with the Output.
Also, I have the Channel Input 1 trim knob at +30 (fully clockwise) and the Mixer Knob at 12 o clock position, STILL NOTHING.
What the F*** is going on?! Am I still doing something wrong?
