Re: how to politely tell someone to RTFM
Is there a video that shows me how to do that?

You can tell me 5,000,000 times to RTFM, but I would rather WAAV (watch any Ableton video) even on a F'g unrelated topic. Indeed...
Rather learn the wrong thing in a youtube Ableton video than RTFM.
Rather watch a Cubase video than RTFM.
Rather watch a McDonald's ad than RTFM.
Rather FTFM than RTFM.
Rather hook up a mic and record the sound of fanning through the pages than RTFM.
Rather write nonsense on the Ableton Forum than RTFM.
Hate RTFM.
This is 2015. Videos exist now.

I highly recommend anyone who uses Live a lot to read the manual in its entirety. Concise and extremely informative, with no bullshit or misinformation. In many cases, you'd get the info you seek much quicker simply looking it up in the online manual than watching a YouTube video. And I would guess that all the YouTube videos combined do not cover everything the manual covers.
Reading is good.
Manuals are great.
The Live manual is also actually an enjoyable read.
Don't get me wrong - YouTube is a fantastic resource (at the same time also a bottomless quagmire of crap), but it is not a replacement for Live's manual.

I *love* manuals. Open the PDF, run a word search on the term, bam! you're reading it on page 437.
This, compared to some never-ending video with no indication when it's going to get to the issue I want wins in a nanosecond for me.
Ted Talk videos, science movies, anything video, actually... I head straight for the transcript. Why waste a whole hour watching the video if I can read, grasp the transcript and be outta there in 5 minutes. Time is precious.
