Re: Good Richie Hawtin interview
Hawtin became someone I will never go and see again since he pushed a speaker on top of a fan then started high fiving his pals about it.
And the fact that he is completely crap nowadays.......

Really always thought he was using MIDI Clock.
Nonetheless I despise his choice of music nowadays. Plain, generic Tech House.
Still getting goosebumps from DE9 | Transitions and DE9 | Closer to the Edit...

I ove Richie Hawtin. Decks, FX and 909 is part of the reason I got into electronic music. DE-9 was and is great too!!
I thought the speaker pushing was hilarious. Everyone has a bad day now and then.

Re: Good Richie Hawtin interview
He came across less douchy than usual.
But what is the point of these master classes?!
I assume people pay money to go see that. Why?!
It was some nostalgia, mixed in with some brand name name dropping and extremely obvious techniques mentioned in passing.
My bud Simon could have given that master class and people might have actually learned something.
But +1 for being not douchy for once....

Re: Good Richie Hawtin interview
My big take away from that was the briefly mentioned Subpac.
http://thesubpac.com
Why isn’t this getting more press or discussion? Seems to be getting rave reviews from just about everybody and solves that "don't want to piss off my neighbors" when producing problem.

I'd like to try one, I'm curious for sure.

There was some cynical concern over all the high profile producer and DJ endorsements but it seems even the little known home producers who got one are praising it. Nearly $400 may seem steep but that’s a small price to pay for being able to work on your productions at all hours of the day and night without noise complaints with the added benefit of not having to treat your room to the nth degree for accurate bass response. Also read it’s great for games and movies.
