oh they are all great, but Saturn is unique in what it does and I use it on sooo much. Not just for saturation, but even on the master as a multibands dynamics tool (it has that dynamics knob/per band). And also using the EQ per band to balance each band on the master.

Developers need to stop putting their presets in dropdown menus, or worse, in generic banks. Why the Hell make banks with names like Bank 1 and Bank 2 and they all have random numbers of pads, arps, bass, leads, etc?! If you’re going to bank them at least make each bank the same sound type. FFS.

Yeah I like how Rob Papen does his presets, and they're program change compatible.

For me you can’t beat NI with their preset browser complete with tagging.

just sorted myself out with an analog keys(its a beauty!!) which kind of replaces my nord A1r but I wont sell it cause I'm kind of stupid that way

I made the mistake of trying the Filtershaper demo, mistake in that I had so much fun messing with it that I had to buy it. 2 filters running in parallel or serial and every single parameter has its own LFO, not just 3 or 4 master LFO’s that you can route to whatever parameter. Also the LFO’s can be expanded to full screen so you can really fine tune and draw exactly what you want.

Also you can share your filter creations with other users within the plugin and have access to what other users are sharing complete with user profile filtering which is great because some users are more skilled than others. You can also tag preset type like sidechain, rhythmic, etc. so you can quickly find the type you are looking for if you have it in mind.

Great addition to the arsenal.

Yup. Over the months it has slowly become one of my top plugs. Great product as is most of FabFilter's collection.

On that note, they just dropped Pro-C 2 last week. Anybody have thoughts on this yet? I have 1 and an upgrade would be like $60 for me, but it’s not exactly on my hot item list.

Thread is relevant to my interests, mostly in relation to my Little Phatty. I actually really love softsynths, and always felt analog monosynths are ridiculously overpriced for what they do, and that there's not much they do that you couldn't squeeze out of a softsynth with a little work. But I just realized to me, Moogs in particular are beautiful, functional works of art. It could just sit there as essentially a sculpture and I'd still love it. For a while I felt really guilty buying stuff that did not help me finish more complete songs. Then I realized I don't give a shit. Making music and/or weird sounds is like a drug to me. I don't care if I walk away with a finished product anyone else likes/cares about. I do it for the way it makes me feel while I'm doing it, and the Moog (and my Virus) make me feel good.

I’m not going to go on a hardware buying spree, but I realized a little while ago that I understand hardware GAS if for no other reason than you have something tangible to look at and touch. That in itself can have its own satisfaction. A plugin sitting in a folder, not so much.

I sometimes power up my Maschine Studio just to watch the startup light show.
