the biggest tip i can give you is use it daily, and beat it in.

after a few weeks of abuse, the pads will soften up and it will become even MORE of a joy to use. kinda like a gift that keeps on giving.

I tried (briefly) to get into the enigma software and i had a little trouble understanding how to get your presets in and out of the T.F.....any tips...katrina ate my manual.i need to look for the pdf maybe....

I'm pretty much still trying to figure out which i like better:assigning scenes or clips to the pads.......for now i like scenes and leave the clips assigned to my oxygen 8.

I do like assigning the faders to returns(all 4) for filter and delay options to fade in/out for live play.

The knobs then control parameters of the fx, 2 per fader.

this thing is a work in progress.

IMHO, you should skip the enigma - if you're using simplers and impulses plus the occasional Battery drum kit then there isn't much use for more than 16 presets. fyi, I have a dual-impulse setup, and then three patches with c1,c2 and c3 going up chromatically. And finally I have two midi control patches, where the pads don't transmit note on/offs, just cc#s. I'm covered, and now it's pretty much set-and-forget.

I found Enigma so couter-intuitive and anger producing that I just deleted the damn thing off my machine entirely. I just spent a couple minutes in the manual and programmed the thing by hand......much less frustration. On a side note, the editing software the Novation Remote 25 uses is an absolute breeze to use.....eat sh*t Enigma (Trigger Finger is nice though)!!!!

I spent a while today trying to get my head around Enigma and found this wiki great.

The one thing to remember is to make sure you hit Save & Exit right after the TF stops flashing 'SYS', and then hit the preset number you want to save to. I think I've got sending individual presets down, so I can go into more detail if anyone's bothered...

On the usage side of things I'm planning on using Preset 10 for my Battery bashing, Presets 1-9 for clip recording/launching and paramater twiddling on my individual vstinstruments. And maybe 16 as mixer functions...

TRigger Finger is messed...questions...

Post by zfigz » Thu Sep 01, 2005 6:06 pm

Ok, I hit the pad in the corner and it usually always double fires. Anyone know what's up with this? Are my pads going down the poop shoot?

You could try messing with the velocity curve settings? Or maybe just use a different preset, I know the various built-in ones are made for some very different applications

drag and drop the assignment you want to the pad or slider or encoder you want to assign. make sure the preset you want to make is highlighted to your left. then upload to triggerfinger
