Let this be a lesson to you. Don't believe the hype, don't fuck with what it just works.

As for your Mac, I'd go with a full reinstall, minimal setup, and send Ableton your project files to try to get the debugged. Like funken said.

You can't just let those "cleaning" programs do whatever they want. You have to examine the files they are going to delete or shit like this happens. I learned the hard way too so don't feel too much like a dumb ass

shut down the Mac. reboot with the Shift key held down, which does a safe boot.

once you are up and running, restart again (no Shift key).

then when you are back in your account, fire up Disk Utility and run a permissions repair on your system drive...

I think those "Clean my Mac" applications are scams! (Just look at in what circumstances they advertise!) 8O

Did you pay for it? Then you may be in luck in so far as that the scam may only have been for the money they got from you.

You didn't (need to) pay for it? 8O
You better do a full new install and everything, as the scam might be in getting Trojans, Viruses and Spyware on your computer.

And what for would you even need an App like that?
For whatever "cleaning" you will need to do, the tools are already on your Mac provided by Apple.

This is way late, but I encountered the same problem I solved it by reinstalling Ableton. Still a huge pain and I'm still removing cleanmymac from my computer, but definitely less destructive than having to revert your whole system.

This is a little late but hopefully it will help someone.

Type the following into spotlight: ~/Library/Caches

Create a folder called: Ableton

Within that folder create a folder called: Cache

Ableton should now be working just fine :D

Ah ha!

And I know this is a little late, but Clean My Mac is some nasty stuff.
