So...anyone attending the moronic Burning Man thing?
Just wondering. Reminds me of some of those ridiculous GOA festivals they used to have with lots of smelly nimrods and douche nozzles running around getting lit up and buying into the whole crowdsourcing bullshit scene. Probably lots of yuppies, lawyers and IT types too....you know....the nincompoops with fake ponytails and Kaiser helmets who ride Harleys on the weekend, or corporate creeps with tie-dyed shirts attending Phish concerts.

I've got a polka gig to play that day.

i just signed up for advanced kazoo lessons... the dates conflict, but to keep with the spirit of burning man; i plan on hanging out naked, covered in dirt, and high as fuck until the pizza delivery comes... at which point i will barter for food.

But I can’t think of a group of people more deserving of your well primed flatulence dispersals. There would be a bidding war between Netflix and HBO for the documentary rights.

i wouldn't have minded going a decade or more ago...
now it's a cop magnet highway to too rich folk acting hip.
it's kind of like a music festival... "WOW 10 bands I like are playing (mostly overlapping) across 3 stages to a herd of 200,000 drunk people with 30 porta-potties and it will only cost me 5 days wages to attend!"
woot.
i would much rather go camping with everyone in this thread - bring beer, whiskey, weed, and a boom box.

but that's the only way musicians get paid now - expensive festivals.
It's shit value but punters seem happy to pay 100 quid to stand in a field watching their idols hit spacebar for 3 or 4 hours.
I wouldn't knock it - it's one of the only ways to make money now for museos!
Cheers

I was at a nice little hippiesque festival a week ago. And I just discovered that I'm getting too old for partying two days in a row.
5 days? In the desert? With 200 000?!
Fuck NO!

I'm thinking I might have to get up with some buds and put together an alternate venue out in the desert west of L.A. We'll call it "Farting Man"....a weekend long beer 'n weed soaked festival dripping with loud 80's metal culminating in the final explosion of a 90' tall Wicker Man containing a concealed bladder filled with 200,000 cubic feet of methyl hydrocarbons and other inert ingredients. It'll be a gas!

That's gone to shit too. I saw the first one back in 93 or 94... Sublime played. Had no idea who they were, just thought that they were pretty good... and sounded a lot like 311Tarekith wrote:I thought that was the Warped Tour?
