If a guitar goes out of tune, you turn a knob.

I have a linnstument and ur it pretty often. It's definitely a different way to input notes! I find myself using it for bass mostly (easier to play chords on my guitar or keyboard). As for using it in Live it works but is limited. You can't use the per note expression functions when playing more than one note.

As soon as I am able, I will totally drop $1500 on a Linnstrument. It looks like a real quality, expressive instrument. Not unlike a nice Les Paul or Taylor guitar. If someone wants to just press buttons, it's probably not worth it. It is definitely geared at professionals like Jordan Rudess (who shreds like a maniac on Push)

Haha... Look, I'm not a Dream Theatre fan, but he is 10x the musician and innovator than anyone hating on him. Plus, he has played on Bowie albums, which if you don't like Bowie then there is something wrong then there is something wrong... I rather a highly creative person display the potential of an instrument than another four on the floor wanker DJ.

I usually like your brand of always sceptic misantropy, but this is just plain dumb.

.... yeah, like "....no computer will ever need more than 640k of memory"

...i think the LinnStrument is indeed a fantastic musical instrument and well worth it's price considering its possibilities (compared with push & the likes anyway)

but: it has some unexpected and annoying limitations, rendering it somewhat useless as THE 24 x 8 MEGADRUMCONTROLLER

you cannot press more than *three* buttons within a single column
and: you cannot press more than *three* buttons in a sqare

(regarding price: i heard that eventually there will be a stripped-down version....)

Per note expression should work with multitimbral instruments like Omnisphere, Kontakt and Rapture right?
