Mulritimbral instruments

If I'm using a mulritimbral instrument like Kontakt, how do I keep the AU window in view when I move to other tracks?

Right now, it's only visible when I'm on the track containing the AU. I'd like to be able to play on midi chanel 2 or 3 while tweaking the sound, or changing instruments.

There's a preference near the bottom of the Look/Feel-tab to hide plugin windows automatically, turn it off.
