Zippery modulation of new filters with M4L Lfo

Post by iloyd2 » Thu Nov 05, 2015 12:19 am

One thing I realized that if you modulate Auto Filter Cutoff with M4L LFO, Arp etc, the result is kinda zippery. Easier to hear with fast modulation and high resonance. Hope that'll be sorted out.

Could you be more precise?
Maybe you can make a quick sound/video capture so it's easier to understand what you mean by "zippery" sound, and why it's eventually unwanted.
thx

Ok, here is an audio example I'm modulating the Cutoff of Auto Filter with M4L LFO Sine Wave. The soundsource is Electric. Increasing smooth in LFO helps for slow modulation, but you can still hear the zippering with fast modulation then.

I can send an example project if required.

I can't reproduce this. What's your buffer size in the Audio preferences? Does it help to decrease it?

Buffer size doesn't seem to have any effect. Tried between 256 to 32. I submitted an example project, status report and audio rendering in my system to Ableton Support.
