CPU USE MFL Convolution reverb pro strange!

Post by jpga » Wed Oct 21, 2015 12:03 pm

Hi friends!
Hilarious things happening to the cpu when I use the mfl convolution reverb pro.
The first instance take 11% cpu and the sec on and the thirde only take 2% cpu!
Is there someone who can talk about what´s going on here?

All the best,,

I would guess the Max framework is included in those 11% and when you add more instances that is already in place in memory. AFICT Max devices doesn't have to be self-contained and if they were that would potentially be a waste of resources. You're hardly complaining that your Reverb is using too little CPU?

Thanks so much for the explanation. So m4l take 9% of my CPU every time you start such a plug in for the first time?

The best convolution Reverbs will take about as much anyway (though it differed wildly for me with specific settings). Get a faster computer.

Thanks for the genuine answers it is really appreciated.
And speaking of my computer so it is super fast.
9-11% cpu is not normal for a convo reverb.

Absolutely not. Simplest devices are 1% here.
MacBook Pro 13" Retina i7 2.8 GHz OS 10.13, L10.0.1, M4L.
MacStudio M1Max 32Go OS 12.3.1

You all have heard about multithreading and how to read the Live CPU meter, right?
