Why does my loop start hitting way harder after one repeat?

I have a scene that, when I trigger it as usual, it has one run that's really light, and then for some reason it starts playing everything twice as heavily and stays that way, almost as if it were running under itself and making a dub, but it's not. It's more like it just starts hitting with more velocity after its first run. I can write the effect into the song pretty easily if I have to, but... I really don't think I should have to.

How long is the loop?

My guess is that you're playing an instrument with medium sustain, slight decay, and holding down the keys but when you play them, you sort of spread out the timing of your fingers. When you start record, it'll trigger them all at the same time if you had those notes held.

Well, this is assuming you're doing a looped midi clip. If you are doing audio, you may have had reverb like they mentioned, and when you start, it'll abruptly cut in.

Could be an unlinked envelope on your drums or something else carrying weight in the mix with a send to an unused return bus or switching on a compressor... happening where your main scene loop cycles.....?

Check your fades as well, you might have a fade at the beginning generated by the "Create Fades on Clip Edges" setting.
