Help - Something's wrong with my MIDI setting

Post by Systemetric » Tue Feb 23, 2016 3:18 am

Hi was wondering if someone could help me with something that kept me up till really late last night.

Here's how my gear is connected: I have my TR8 connected to my Mac running Ableton... TR8 MIDI out to Korg Minilogue MIDI IN. TR8 USB to Mac. All was fine till I was fooling around with some MIDI Preferences (I think this is where the problem is but I cant seem to figure it out).

So... the TR8 is playing a on board pattern. When I click on any other track in Ableton with a AU/VST on it... the TR8 sends the drum pattern MIDI to that channel resulting in garbage.

Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

In MIDI prefs INPUTS de-select TR8 in the TRACK column.

Take some time to understand the MIDI prefs. This will save you a lot of trouble in the future.

Thanks!... this worked. It was a combination of on and offs that was causing it.

Combinations of ons and offs can cause so many things, you know.
