I saw that a while back and was very gratified to head how abominable Fripp's original parts were (understandably as he'd just walked in the door). Kudos to Tony for his editing work. I say gratified because my guitar parts are also bad, and I must often Visconti my own Fripperies. It's good to see that even the classics were edited together from takes.Pitch Black wrote:A little after the fact, but if you haven't seen this... Toni Visconti spends 16 minutes breaking down the recording of Heroes. Wonderful to see all the layers and techniques. Well worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

The most interesting / unexpected parts in there were the quality drone from Eno at 3:20 (Synthi AKS) which I thought was part of Fripp's layers and the Chamberlin "horn stabs" which I always thought were Carlos's guitar.
