audio output issue, please help

audio output issue, please help

I have been using my new krk rockit 5's for a few months now, but today when i went into abelton's preferences they were not detected under the audio output selection. So i decided to check my macs system settings and they were not detected there either as an audio output.

can somebody help?

Unless I'm missing something obvious, the Rockit 5 is just a powered monitor, which means it has no direct computer connection at all--just an analog audio connection.

Therefore, they shouldn't show up in the audio output selection. Rather, what should show up is whatever audio interface (built-in or external) they're connected to.

yeah that's what I meant, my Safire 6 interface doesn't come up

Close Live, unplug the USB cable, then plug it back in, does that help?

no I'm afraid not, but what's weird is that the interface is turning on as usual so I know that there is a connection, and the interface is not detected by the main system settings either. I have closed and reopened live and also restarted my computer many times. any ideas?

I've just installed the driver as well for the el capitain update and still no luck, on another note my Mac has been acting weird lately, could it be a virus or something perhaps? and now I've realised that my midi keyboard is not being detected via sub either - does this sound like a deeper issue?

Are you plugging your devices into a USB hub or directly into the USB ports on your Mac? If you're using a hub, it could be that the hub has failed. Try plugging your interface into a port on your Mac instead of going through the hub.

my USB key works fine :| and my midi keyboard doesn't work no either now
