Abelton Live 9 Waveform View and Group Channel Overviews

Post by scorb » Sun Apr 10, 2016 4:56 pm

1. Waveform view is now inaccurate:

Please can we have a pref for switching between the new FFT waveform view and the old "sample" view? Clicks and impulses now show inaccurately and with pre ringing and I would like to be able to see the ACTUAL sample data when performing many operations.

Try it!!! in an audio editor, draw a single sample at full scale and import it into live and view the waveform. Not good is it?!

2. Group Channel Overview:

With many channels in a group, the track becomes really wide when folded away. Often you are using groups to help organise sets and fit more things on screen. Having such wide channels taking up space needlessly is not very helpful at all in certain situations.

Further more, if you delete or move channels out of this group, the track width doesn't resize properly, becomes corrupted and doesn't view correctly. See the following image. The top group clearly displays how the overview is wasting vast amounts of screen real estate. Sometimes useful but sometimes not at all! Also, notice the bottom group which WAS like the top one but has had most of it's channels deleted. It displays with no name and this is clearly a bug!

Please consider adding the ability via pref or right click to disable the group channel "overview" so we can keep foided group tracks narrow and save space in the arrangement.

Cheers
