So badly named. There exists already ghost notes in music, especially in connection to drums. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_note
The video talks about Ghost Channels. That's equally stupid. Those channels are real data.

Others have called this feature multitrack-editing and similar names, that better describes the feature in my opinion. Also why would you settle on seeing other notes in other tracks when you could edit them all in one window? I mean really?

Also, why do you send us to youtube to find out what you mean? Write what you need, don't keep us guessing.

^ Seriously.

Like he said, "ghost note" is already a musical term that doesn't mean what you're talking about.

I guess you're talking about multi-clip/region editing.

I did become confused at the terminology used. I was expecting a Bernard "pretty" Purdie video!

But the overall concept is good, whatever you want to call it.
Poltergeist entities.

Most of the other DAWs have this, Bitwig notably. It would be good if Ableton got it too. They are lagging on these sort of features.

Look at these snobbery kids. So cute. They are preventing Live from getting important features by just arguing about semantics and going around in circles. Stagnation of Live. I'm waiting this feature for 50 years. That's why Bigwig came into being though

No, on the contrary it's important we are in agreement on what we wish for. Being clear doesn't hurt. I'm in 100% support for this feature as long as it isn't half-done. Please share links for any polls and feature requests.

It's under "Suggestions (public)" at the Ableton Centercode site and here at this site you have Feature Wishlist that's the likeliest forum here that Ableton staff will read. If you make a poll and a suggestion I will vote for it, but please expand on the idea.

There's already one not aptly named suggestion at Centercode:
SUG-1906 midiclips view editing and possibly there are others as well. It makes sense to pool votes to as few Suggestions as possible. That's one reason why I think it's important we don't splinter the focus for features we all want.

In the case of your implied suggestion I think it's too little to just more or less copy a feature from another DAW. It has to fit into the Ableton Live work flow, which is why I think full on editing of multiple clips/tracks makes more sense than just seeing other tracks/clips.

I found an already existing feature suggestion for what I want with 266 votes (!) here at the Ableton Centercode site:

SUG-0776 Edit Multiple Midi-Clips that I had already voted for.
"Which product is your suggestion relevant to?
Ableton Live
Each other DAW lets us edit multiple MIDI Parts at the Same time, eg: Bass, Chords, Pads , Sequence...
Currently it is not possible in Live.

Add this feature. Please
https://www.ableton.com/answers/edit-mu ... midi-clips"
Unless you're adamant about not being able to edit multiple clips/tracks I suggest you cast your vote there and market this Suggestion so others that haven't already voted can do that.

I don't get it... What's keeping you from making ghost notes using the regular piano roll? You don't need any special features to make ghost notes.

edit: fuck, beaten.

No-on else did the job: Vote for multiple clip editing now!. Now go and vote! If you have already, then market this idea to other users.

C'mon, there are 266 votes already and counting.
