Re: Sylenth1 crash my ableton
Make sure you are running the latest version of Sylenth, there has been update's quite recently
Re: Sylenth1 crash my ableton
I had the same problem for the last 3 days and just figured it out, Sylenth1 constantly kept crashing my friends ableton in important projects we needed and we had no clue what to do
we spent the last 2/3 days googling everything we could, there are actually numerous threads on this site about this but not a single one has the answer
we tried every version of of Sylenth1 and every version of ableton we had stored and it made no difference...it was versions it worked on when we worked on it years ago but wasnt working now
but we figured it out about 10 minutes ago.. it was our anti-virus, we switched to AVG a few months ago. i randomly just decided to uninstall it (just being desperate) and sylenth1 started working again. i decided to go back to my old anti-virus (Avast) and everything is back to working
my guess is some antivirus programs flag or block some part of sylenth1 from working properly
i hope that helps maybe it will spare someone some wasted days trying to figure it out

Re: Sylenth1 crash my ableton
Ive just removed AVG from my system after years of trouble free use as it's started mucking with scripts I use, Push display process (kills it for no reason even after added to exceptions) and also seems to be the cause of a few live crashes I am sure. Plus it's just full of bloat now.

Hey Guys!
Just dropped by to say thanks to you all for giving the tip about AVG. Sylenth is finally working after spending over 2 weeks of crashing Live!
Steps for AVG:
- Close Live
- Open AVG > Options > Advanced Settings
- Click on "Exceptions"
- Add the Ableton Live program (based on where it is installed)
- Restart Live
- Smile with happiness!
Cheers,
S

Re: Sylenth1 crash my ableton
I don't have AVG and Sylenth is crashing my Abletion Live 9.6.2. I use the default virus software built into windows 10 no AVG on this computer.
There still seems to be a problem with Sylenth1 and Abletion Live

Re: Sylenth1 crash my ableton
Talking about AVG, I'm running Sylenth1 fine on my machine. But the registration of FXpansion older plugins such as Maul/Etch/Bloom is troublesome, until I remove AVG. Maybe I should use the exception tip, but everything run smoother using Windows Defender for now. Curious about the August update of Win 10, which will improve it.

Re: Sylenth1 crash my ableton
Thanks shoby22 for the tip, after a few days of hair-pulling and a lot of googling, I finally found your post and it fixed the crashing for me!
Re: Sylenth1 crash my ableton
Having the exact same issue with Avira AntiVirus only since Sylenth V3. I went back to Avast, but still get the same on that, unless I stop Avast fully, which seems to be better.

No one wants to help if you are using an old version that you "cant update". I get that kind of support inquiry for things I do all-the-time so I do not even bother to try and help people if they do not post all versions of all software they are using. Often the issue is an older version with an update that fixes the issue.
