Sample Error: it may corrupted or not licensed

I use Live 9.6.1 and My macbook is 10.9.5
I installed latest version of the quick time player
I can play all the files in finder through quicktime player
but I can't play & drag certain files into abletion
because it said "The file "Certain files" could not be read. It may be corrupt or not licensed.
Lol I hate this problem anyone please help me!!! 8O 8O 8O

same problem with MP3 files, so far no solution, very upset :-(

I had exactly the same problem. Ableton Live 9.7 didnt even allowed me to import mp3 and videos anymore, it stopped working from one day to another.

The SOLUTION was that I imported some QT codecs into my library folder (on Mac) in the wrong place. It was supposed to be under Macintosh HD --> Library --> Quicktime. But instead I copied them into my User Name --> Library.

Once i deleted this duplicate Quicktime folder, Ableton started to work, allowing me to import mp3 and videos files once again.
