Adding non-latency compensated track?

Post by kabur glasgow » Mon Sep 19, 2016 8:21 am

In the final mixdown, I have many plugins, and naturally that means latency. It's fine mixing with latency, but not recording new parts through a midi controller.

Is there a way I can add a track which doesn't fit in with Live's latency compensation? I'd like to be able to play the latency-laden mix, and record an instrument on top through a midi controller, without a delay between pressing a note and hearing a sound.

It would be even better if Live adjusted the placement of the midi clips to reflect overall latency, but if not I'd just shift them manually into place.

Thanks.
