Please make midi assignable too please.
Re: Scroll Wheel Zoom - For the love of GOD! Please.............
Was thinking about this today and low and behold it seems every one else is too.
So yes please! Scroll wheel zoom - horizontal and vertical and view sensitive also, so where the cursor is it focus zooms on that point, like cad programs have been doing for years.
BIG time saver!

Can't believe this request has been sitting here for past 11 years :O
This makes me question the purposefulness of posting suggestions in this forum.

Posts where? Are you sure these are where it counts?H20nly wrote:i have 15 thousand posts all asking for scroll wheel zoom and still nothing
I'm somewhat surprised that Login didn't return to post his suggestion to Ableton at Centercode 3 years ago for this feature: SUG-0009: Mouse wheel support for adjusting parameters and zoom.
There's only 57 votes! So what are you guys waiting for? Sign up already and make your vote count and, if you want, your voice heard. Ableton do pay attention to Centercode votes I think recent history have shown.
Also, I want to add that as have been said previously it's kinda narrow-minded to focus on scroll wheel zoom and not on zoom in general. If nothing else track pads exist and should also work well for zooming. Better zooming can be implemented on more than one type of device.
Basic gear info: Macbook Pro with macOS 10.12, Ableton Live Suite version 9 (64bit) with Ozone, Push and APC20 as controllers.

Ableton are just waiting for the mouse to disappear completely. Touch screens, Trackpads and so on.hyperscientist wrote:Ableton, please, JUST DO IT! It's such a simple yet so incredibly usable feature!
Personally, I think this suggestion for zoom would be very welcome, but I don't understand the mentality in this thread to limit this to mice, when there are so many other cursor controllers.

Oh, I don't even own a mouse Scroll wheel support essentially also means that we get support for two-finger touchpad drag on mac etc. - every touch alternative to scroll wheel. What is even more cool is that you can use one of the hardware big knob devices which work by simulating scroll wheel (there's many on the market, also for graphic designers, architects using cad software, engineers etc.) - you essentially point your cursor to a thing on the screen you want to scroll/rotate and then use the big hardware wheel to scroll.Stromkraft wrote:Personally, I think this suggestion for zoom would very welcome, but I don't understand the mentality in this thread to limit this to mice, when there are so many other cursor controllers.
Check this video after 1:35…

So essentially you get to use hardware potentiometer (be it mouse wheel or a big knob) without the need for a midi map. You get it on demand for any scrolling/sliding thingy on the screen.

This is a very lovely idea. It's likely on a development feature list somewhere at Ableton. Maybe it's one of those things that need to pitched again and again until they implement it one day. Like automation delay compensation. Don't give up the struggle! Zooming is sexy and useful!hyperscientist wrote: So essentially you get to use hardware potentiometer (be it mouse wheel or a big knob) without the need for a midi map. I've got it working for me by writing a simple script in AutoHotKey... seriously, it's pretty simple guys I'll share my script if asked, but I think my workflow is going to be different than everyone else since I'm using multiple monitors and windows.
But I agree (obviously), Ableton needs this.
