Uploading music to Blend.io

Post by stevie331 » Fri Mar 03, 2017 6:13 pm

Hi
I used to upload music to Blend via Dropbox but recently Blend have brought their own upload app into use.
I have managed to upload some music via Ableton onto the Blend site but I get a message saying the music is missing files.
I have contacted their help site and been told I need to have a preview.wav file for project.
I can't see anywhere that I have a wav file-Can anyone let me know how to create and then upload a wav file ?
Thanks Steve

Yep, you have to have a preview wave file in your project or it won't work (and people can't listen to your project). You need to export your project (Export Audio) as a wave file, and this is the part a lot of people miss, you have to rename it "preview.wav" or it still won't work. Add this wave file to your project before you upload the file to Blend and it should work fine.

Don't forget you have to "Save All and Close" too, or your project will be missing many of the files needed to work with your project.

Thanks Richie
Still trying to get there!!
Do I no longer need to use dropbox with the Blend io app or do I up load files to dropbox and blend folder inside that.
Also say I save music file as steve do I then save a wav file as
stevepreview.wav
or just
preview.wav

Yes, the project folder goes inside the Blend folder in Dropbox. It's a special app they have linked to Dropbox.

And yes, the file must be named just "preview.wav".

Thanks Richie I have now uploaded a few test pieces-I don't think you need drop box anymore, think you just need the app as I didn't upload to drop box.

Have Blend change any of their settings again?
Haven't used it for a while and am trying to post something new but getting the preview file is missing message
When I click to see what files Blend can see in my project folder it shows a file named
preview.wav.asd
as well as
desktop.inl
filename.als
But i can't find any folder in Blend that have these three files in?
Can anyone point me in direction of where these files are located?
I have tried to use the export audio/video command in Ableton and save file as "preview.wav" but cannot see it in the folder?
Any help appreciated
Thanks Steve
