Warping / loop creation

Post by tallulahgoodtimes » Mon Mar 13, 2017 2:46 pm

Hi there,

I'm new to Ableton, and have just warped my first track, whilst in session view. So far so good.

Now, I'd like to chop it up into loops.

Do I need to do it again in Arrangement view? I am toggling from Session to Arrange and expecting to see the track there, but it's not.

Clearly I'm missing something but can't figure out what.

Your help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Tallulah

Clips are independent per view. So if you want to edit a clip in Arrangement view that is in Session view you would need to copy and past or move the clip to Arrangement view.
This will actually create a copy but it is a new clip and anything you do to that clip will not affect any of the other clips.

Hi tallulahgoodtimes,

From what I hear Session View is always preferred. How about just using Simpler? It recently started supporting warp mode. Alternatively combine it with Drum Rack for a more MPC-like experience.

We have been struggling to get this feature for years.
