Lock to Control Surface can be dangerous if you later forget it's active, but it will lock the parameters to what you're interested in. Five minutes later you might not be, however.
Also, this is backwards, as what one would like is to lock the notes, but the main idea with Push is that it should always reflect what is active in Live. To side-track this is bad interface idea I think even though it's also very nifty and useful. Maybe this is something that'd work quite well on a Push 2 though.
