Quantizing Selected Notes
Quantizing Selected Notes
Hello,
I'm trying to quantize selected notes from my PUSH 2. Its very easy for me to select with a mouse say the 1st 1/2 of a 4 bar pattern to quantize. Once selected, I press quantize on the Push, but it quantizes all the notes, not just the ones I selected. This behavior is very useless. That is not how ableton itself operates, so why does Push do that? In Ableton, with nothing selected all is quantized, but as soon as you make a selection only the selection is quantize. Am I doing something wrong? Don't want to have to reach to my keyboard to press cmd + U, kind of pointless for the controller not to do that.

Re: Quantizing Selected Notes
I would like to know too.
Re: Quantizing Selected Notes
same here, especially if you have 16 and 32 series in the same clip and you want to apply swing:
quantize at 16 and you will lose the 32
quantize at 32 and swing will be applied only to 32s' uptempo
additionally, there is no way to quantize at 32t

Re: Quantizing Selected Notes
Anyone? Do we really have to go to our computer to quantize selected notes? The point is to stay within Push 2. Seems a little silly.
Re: Quantizing Selected Notes
from my understanding it only works when in drumrack mode. you can push and hold the pad and press quantisize. so only for example the hihats get swung.
for midi from the note mode i don't know a turnaround. maybe in the sequencer view could be a way...

Re: Quantizing Selected Notes
I have come to realize that Push misses many of those elementary features.

Re: Quantizing Selected Notes
So, does Push still only quantize the whole clip, and not the selected notes??
Serious WTF? here. Decided to go with a drum rack and immediately run into Push quantizing my 8t high hat line... fun.

Re: Quantizing Selected Notes
You can quantize only e.g hi-hat notes:
hold Quantize + press your Hi-hat pad.
But you can't quantize e.g only 1 bar of hi-hats in a 2 bars long clip.
