Browser search enhancements

Post by sequential » Mon Apr 24, 2017 4:55 pm

Would be nice if the browser had some search filters in the form of drop down boxes. These could be:

FILE TYPE
only show wav files
only show midi files
only show aiff files
only show mp3 files

FOLDER
search all folders
only search this folder
only search this folder & sub folders

if Live could access file metadata or tags of an audio or midi clip

KEY
A
B
C
D
E
F
G
(this could also include sharp/flat notes)

GENRE TYPE
synth
bass
drums
percussion
FX
vocals

additional search boxes could be added to search other tags

The ability to have many search filters active at once would return much more accurate search results.

Yes, I'd like to sort the browser in this order and with these names:

Plug-ins
Ableton Instruments
Ableton Audio FX
Ableton Midi FX
Ableton Samples
My Samples
Projects
Etc.

Also, when you type a search, it should give you "All Results" straight away as the default. Or this should be an option.

Dear Ableton Browser,

I would sell my soul for total control over you.
