Color Palette

Post by indigo_osc » Tue May 16, 2017 1:09 pm

Hi Guys,

I just need a confirmation on this, in order to be ABSOLUTELY sure:

Do I HAVE to live with the color palette that live is supplying, or is there a way (ANY way!) to change this???

Cheers.
:-) :-D :-) If LEGO had VST and MIDI functionality, it would be just as cool as ABLETON :-) :-D :-)

Nope. I actually mean the little pop-up box with all the little squares used to assign color to clips and tracks. :)

Great. Thx for the reply. :(

It is what I had already read on the forum. I just needed to be absolutely sure, so I could lay it to rest and stop thinking about possible solutions.

Cheers m8. :)

What’s wrong with Live’s „palette“? AFAIK it covers pretty much the entire color spectrum. Sure, you could have two dozen very subtly different shades of your favorite colors but that would kind of defeat the purpose and be difficult to differentiate IMHO.

Yeah, I think it should also be kept in mind that these colors are chosen because Pushs pads can show them. If they were too close in tone they would all look the same on Push.

I alway find the color palett to be oddly organised.
It is kind of organized but not like for instance the Google Docs palette wich is very clear.
I like to color my tarcks by frequency and would like to have a color palette that naturall reflects a set of colors.
In the Live color pallet I also way have to search for the right colors since there is no obvious order.
I could imagine if there was a got sortig that would naturally adapt a frequency range, many live Users would use it the same way and common language is always a good thing.

A color palette showing only my selected favourite colors would make Live life so much easier indeed.

+1 this.
It would be real nice and useful to have some more color options,
or the functionality to pick our own colors.

+1 this too.

And also, that the colours match on the APC 40 mk2. Everything has gone pastel in Live 10.

The thing is, it used to work fine...we ran the live show from 8 and 9 for years and the colours matched on the APC. Now with the new palette they don't...whatever changed between versions broke it.

Live has really ugly colors compared to Logic. Look at these Logic gradients in comparison:
