Changing pitch in simpler without sample starting again?

Post by lemonhouse » Sat Oct 28, 2017 4:07 pm

Does anyone know if there's a way of playing a sample on a keyboard without the sample starting from the beginning?

I want to preserve the timing of the sample but be able to change the pitch using my keyboard as it continues playing. Is this possible or would it be a crazy drain on resources?

I could do something similar using transposition modulation in the clip's envelope editor but this isn't very playable.

I think this is what it sounds like you're trying to do.... (starting at 9 minutes in...)
