Live 10 where are the presets for Electric?

Post by Muze » Thu Feb 08, 2018 5:24 pm

Why does Electric now only ship with a few patches for Piano and Keys, where are the rest (used to have lots more keys as well as lots of experimental and mallet sounds)?

I tried copying them over from Live 9 to the core content folder inside the Live application (on Mac you can open it up) but it still doesn't see them (any way to force a refresh of the library?)

I see 41 presets under "Piano & Keys" in L10, which is the same as in L9. Are you sure you just didn't have a bunch of packs that added presets or that you had added presets yourself?

The natural place to add presets is in the User Library, no?

No these originally came with Electric (I think back to Live 8 ) - anyway I would have thought they would show up if I added them myself to the devices folder but there doesn't seem to be any way to refresh the library

I'm also seeing no drum racks - is this an additional install?

Just go to Instruments >> Electric >> plenty of folders with sounds

as usual:
-Ambient & evolving
-Bass
-Mallets
-Pads

That seems more like the scanning of the database is taking its time, I would restart and leave it there for 10 minutes.

Nope - just Piano and Keys, and one Bass patch

that's why I'm asking

They should just include past presets of their instruments/fx in each new version. I don't understand why they remove them. I installed the Live 8 pack for Live 9 and then I got a bunch of duplicates.. eeeh. Everything or nothing, right :P
