Any particular reason why you're bumping a thread on April 3rd after the paypal transaction between you and I cleared on March 28th? I am now not seeing the license that you supposedly transferred to me in my Ableton account. You have my number and my email, please feel free to explain to me what the deal is, although I'm confident I already have it figured out.

I would recommend to others buying on forums to be weary of sellers who don't participate in the forum community. ie... they have few or no posts or their past posts are questionable.

Yep yep, lesson learned. Am working with paypal now. Here's a timeline just so everyone knows what to watch for:

3/28 contacted seller, sent funds via paypal
3/29 confirmed seller contacted Ableton and had license transferred.
4/3 seller retrieves funds from paypal
4/4 seller contacts Ableton, says I didn't pay him and to give him his license back. Ableton says "OK", and gives it back.

Honestly I would be vary wary about buying Ableton used at all from anyone. I don't blame Ableton for this, they're not a bank. But apparently all it takes is one message from the
original license holder and they'll just transfer the license back to the original owner, no questions asked.

it would, but that won't happen. from what I understand Ableton will reassign the license to the original owner at any point in time, all he/she has to do is claim that it was never paid for and 'poof' there it goes. that's why ill never buy any DAWs or plugins 'used' ever again, the risk is just way too great.

I don't understand something, I have done 2 license transfers and I was told by Ableton that once the license is transferred it is done, only the new license holder can transfer it back. You can find that in this link:

So perhaps you where contacted by people posing to be Ableton? If Ableton did indeed transfer the license back without your permission then they would be breaking their own contract and I doubt this is the case, however I'm not fully aware of the details.
