4 stereo input, 4 out audio interface mixer?
4 stereo input, 4 out audio interface mixer?
Hi. The title kinda says it. I’m running just 4 bits of hardware into a Behringer ufx 1204 desk/interface. I pan 8 channels to get 4 stereo inputs, but the interface is 4 out, so in a daw I can either get 2 synths in stereo, or 4 in mono. I want to get 4 stereo outs so need 8 out interface. I add, that I like desks for hands on eq etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I use a Roland Octacapture
has 4 inputs on the front and 4 on the back capable of recording as stereo pairs. Also has 8 audio outs along with coax in/out. I don't record heaps with it, just needed the outputs for various routings but it performs pretty good.

Take a look at the Focusrite 18i20. Without expansion it has 8 input combo xlr /1/4" jacks which can be used as stereo pairs and 10 - 1/4 jack outputs. If you expand it with Adat you can have an addition 8 inputs and outputs. I don't have this but I have the next one down which is the 18i8 (Gen2) as well as a 2i4(Gen2). I have used many Focusrite interfaces over the years and they've always been good for me.

I'm still using my old Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 firewire interface with 18 physical ins and outs. Still like it, although not the best latency wise.... Is perfect for the job, and can be found cheap these days.
