how can I record transpose automation of a MIDI track?

In arrangement view, enable MIDI arrangement over dub ( little + sign next to record) and automation arm (next to over dub button).

Drop in a pitch MIDI effect, should be the first MIDI effect in your chain, hit record and move the pitch knob, everything will transpose accordingly.
